National record – Emma Moore

Galway City Harriers' Emma Moore made history on Wednesday last when she broke the Irish indoor under-23 800m record in the National Sports Arena in Dublin, clocking a time of 2.02.39.

It also moved her to sixth on the all-time Irish senior indoor list, in a year where she also produced personal bests at 400m (55.41"), 600m (1'29.31") and with the 4*400m relay team at the European championships in Bergen (3'34.81") and ran DCU to the University Road Relays gold medal.

Fixtures

The Goal Mile takes place in Galway at multiple locations on Christmas Day – Dangan Track at 10am -12 noon, Rinville in Oranmore at 11, and Doughiska Community Garden at 11 am

Athenry AC hosts the Fields of Athenry 10km on 26th December next at 11am, with the race now a sell-out, with 3,000 entries taken up
