For the first time in 12 games, Galway United are back in the winners' enclosure after their victory over Cork City in Eamonn Deacy Park on Friday (26th September 2025).
Two first-half Stephen Walsh goals, either side of an Alex Nolan strike for the visitors, secured the three points and moved United up to seventh place, out of the relegation play-off position, but only scoring difference ahead of Sligo Rovers and Waterford.
