Frantz Pierrot was the Galway United hero as they secured a first victory over Derry City in two years on Friday evening (3rd April 2026) at Eamonn Deacy Park in the SSE Airtricity League Men's Premier Division.
David Hurley struck a 16th minute opener to give the hosts a 1-0 interval lead before James Clarke equalised. But just two minutes after being introduced, Pierrot grabbed the winner moving United up to sixth, just five points outside the top three.
Afterwards, Galway United manager John Caulfield shared his thoughts with Galway Bay FM's Mike Rafferty.
Galway Bay FM's match commentary team were Mike Rafferty and Derek Rogers.
Galway United's next game is away to Drogheda United on Monday (6th April). Kick-off at Sullivan & Lambe Park is 5pm and we'll have full coverage on our website galwaybayfm.ie.
