The draw for the 3rd round of the FAI Cup has thrown up a sensational local derby as Salthill Devon will take on Galway United in the last 16 of this season's competition.
The sides have met on five previous occasions, with United winning three and two draws.
They were in 1991 in what was United’s first game after winning the FAI Cup. A League Cup game was played in the then-named Terryland Park, which they won 4-0.
In 1994, the sides met again in the League Cup at Crowley Park and United won 8-0. In 2009, the sides drew 2-2 in the League Cup with United winning 5-3 on penalties.
Which brings us to their sole meeting in the FAI Cup in 2010. The game finished 1-1 in Terryland Park with United winning the replay 3-1 in Drom.
