Galway manager Micheál Donoghue insists they haven’t focused on past failures as they defied the odds during this year’s championship to reach a first All-Ireland senior final in eight years.
Their semi-final victory over Cork was their first against Munster opposition since 2023, and they now get ready to face Limerick for the Liam MacCarthy Cup next Sunday (19th July 2026).
It's a repeat of the 2018 decider which when the Shannonsiders ended a 45-year famine. The Tribesmen topped that with their 1980 win over Limerick, restoring to the Holy Grail for the first time since 1923, when they also vanquished the boys in green.
