The Galway women’s team comfortably qualified for the National League Track & Field Finals following their preliminary round in Tullamore on Saturday (20th June).
They’ll now compete in the National Finals at Morton Stadium, Santry on Sunday, 9th August, in pole position to put in a medal winning performance.

On the day:
- There were 5 wins - Nicole Walsh in the 400, Lauren Kilduff in the 400mH, Holly Shaughnessy in the 1500m Walk, 4x100m relay (Nicole Quirke, Sinead Treacy, Laura Ann Costello and Emma O'Donovan) and 4x400m relay (Sinead Treacy, Nicole Walsh, Elisa Jamie Stapleton and Danielle Moynihan).
- 5 second place finishes - Laura Ann Costello in the 200m, Leanagh Gilligan in the high jump, Aoibhin Farrell in the triple jump, Ellen Bermingham in the 3000m, Emma O'Donovan in the 100mH.
- Top 6 finishes (and valuable points for the team) - Izzy Kelly in the discus, Anna Donoghue in the hammer, Mary Barrett in the WFD and javelin, Aoibhin Farrell in the shot, Helena O'Keeffe in the 1500m, Leanagh Gilligan in the long jump, Margaret Nnadi in the 100m.
