The 2019 Feile na nGael takes place this weekend in Kerry and North Cork with Galway’s teams in action from 5.30 on Friday evening. The format this year is different from previous years with two games on Friday at 5.30 and 6.30 and one on Saturday at 10am. Galway will be represented by four teams in hurling in Turloughmore, Cois Fhairraige, Liam Mellows and Mícheál Breathnach and in Camogie by Carnmore and Ardrahan.
In Division One, Turloughmore face Fermoy (Cork) in Newtown at 5.30 followed by a game against Naas. In Division Three, Cois Fhairraige face Glen Rovers (Cork), followed by Castleknock (Dublin). In Division 6 Liam Mellows take on Killeagh/Itas (Cork) followed by Mullinavat (Kilkenny). In Division 10, Michael Breathnach take on Firies followed by St Dominic’s.
On Saturday, their final group games are at 10am. Turloughmore face Shandrum (Cork), Cois Fharraige takes on Watergrasshill (Cork), Liam Mellows take on Lisgoold (Cork) and Micheal Breathnach face South Kerry.
Meanwhile, in Camogie in Division One, Carnmore face Aghada (Cork) in Sallybrook at 5.30 followed by Newcastlewest (Limerick) in Sarsfields at 6.45. Their final group game on Saturday is against Sarsfields in Sarsfields (Cork) at 11am. In Division three, Ardrahan start off against Cobh at 5.30 in Aghaveen followed by St Ibars (Wexford) at 6.30. Their final group game on Saturday is against Fr O’Neills (Cork) at 10am.
