Galway's scheduled opening challenge game of 2025 away to Kildare (Saturday, 4th January 2025) will see the new look 'football rules' be played among the watching public for the first time.

After being experimented with in last year's interprovincial series, multiple new changes were passed at Special Congress, including restrictions for goalkeepers, two points for a score outside a 40-metre arc, 1 vs. 1 throw-ins, and three forwards being kept in the attacking half of the field.

Throw-in between Kildare and Galway in St. Conleth's Park, Newbridge on Saturday is 6pm.
