Caltra suffered a heartbreaking loss after extra time to Kilmeena in the Connacht Intermediate Football Championship quarter-final at Tuam Stadium on Sunday afternoon. It was a tightly fought contest right throughout, with Caltra going into the break with a narrow one-point lead, but the game ended in a draw at 0-16 each. But it was the Mayo men who marched on to the semi-finals. Jack Mulchrone's goal proved to be the difference as Kilmeena advanced. The Mayo side will now face Coolaney/Mullinabreena of Sligo in the semi-final.
