Just four days after winning the Joe Ryan Cup, Galway championship side Knocknacarra enter the national stage of the FAI Junior Cup this Sunday (10th May 2026) when they host 2023 winners Newmarket Celtic from Clare in the last-64.
Even though they didn't manage promotion to the top flight this year, Knocknacarra's young crew have enjoyed success by winning the under-21 Premier League and will now aim to qualify for Round 5, like they did just two years ago.
Leading up to the game, Knocknacarra joint manager Jimmy Nolan, who oversees the senior and under-21 teams with Derek Rogers, joined Galway Bay FM's Darren Kelly to knock about the game and club's progress. But first they looked back on last week's 2-1 victory over Galway Hibernians.
Kick-off at Cappagh Park on Sunday is 2pm and we'll have updates here on Galway Bay FM.
Also in action this week, Moyne Villa entertain Carrigaline United on Saturday (9th) at 3pm, and Colga travel to Offaly's Coolraine SC on Sunday at 2pm.
