History could be made on Friday night when Galway United face Bohemians at Eamon Deacy Park, as it could see the record for the most appearances made broken.
Kevin Cassidy and Stephen Walsh share the current record of 368 appearances.
If Walsh is picked to play against Bohemians, he will break this record.
United legend Cassidy made his appearances between 1976 and 1993, making his debut for the then-named Galway Rovers on the 5th of September 1976.
Stephen made his debut for Galway United as a substitute against Sligo Rovers on the 9th of July 2010 and made his first start on the 25th of July 2010, scoring in a 1-1 draw with Dundalk.
Walsh is also United’s third-highest goalscorer with 61 goals behind Paul McGee and Alan Murphy.
A major call has gone out for a big crowd on Friday in what is a crucial game for United as they look to avoid relegation to the first Division.
Kick off on Friday is at 7.45pm.
