Ballinasloe's quest for provincial glory in the Connacht Junior Hurling Championship begins again on Saturday afternoon when the Galway champions take on Mayo side Moytura in the semi-final at 1.30 pm in Duggan Park. Moytura Hurling Club is based in South Mayo, with a catchment area including Ballinrobe, The Neale, Cong, Cross, Shrule, Glencorrib, Kilmaine, Partry, Tourmakeady and Clonbur. The second semi-final between Cluainín Gelncar Manorhamilton (Leitrim) and Easkey (Sligo) is also on tomorrow at 1.30 pm in Carrick on Shannon. Ballinasloe have lost the last two Connacht Junior Hurling finals to Easkey, losing in 2023 by 1-18 to 2-12 and in 2024 by 0-18 to 1-11, so manager Derek Frehill told Darren Kelly the experience of those defeats should stand to his side tomorrow...
