After this weekend's action, there will be 14 teams left in the race for the All-Ireland Senior Club Football title, with Galway representatives Maigh Cuilinn looking to secure a place in the provincial final with a home fixture against Leitrim Gaels on Sunday in Pearse Stadium. After Caltra's extra-time heartbreak at the hands of Kilmeena (Mayo) in the Intermediate club championship last weekend, the only other Galway club with ambitions of progressing in the All-Ireland Club Championships is Carna Cashel, who travel to Ballinamore, County Leitrim on Sunday to take on Aughavas in the Connacht Junior Semi-Finals. As things stand, there are 61 clubs around the country with ambitions of winning at least a provincial club football title, including European champions Barcelona Gaels, who are competing for the second year in a row in the Leinster Junior Championship.
