30% of chemo patients at UHG experienced delays in treatment

30 per cent of patients undergoing chemotherapy at UHG were waiting longer than the HSE's recommended guidelines for treatment.

That's according to figures released to the Sinn Fein party, showing 27 percent were waiting longer than the target of 15 days.

The figures also show that significant numbers of cancer patients were also left waiting when it comes to various surgical interventions.

Galway/Roscommon Sinn Fein TD Claire Kerrane claims this is a consequence of the Government failing to fund the National Cancer Strategy since 2018.
