Four schools in Galway are to benefit from a 48 million euro DEIS Plus Investment.
They are - Radharc na Mara National School, Mervue, Scoil an Chroi Naofa, Ballinasloe, Scoil Bride Naofa, Shantalla Road and Galway Community College in the city.
The investment has been announced by Minister for Education and Galway West TD Hildegarde Naughton under the DEIS Plus Scheme
Nationally, the measures announced under the strategy will deliver over 400 extra roles, including around 350 teacher posts across 700 schools.
The DEIS Plus scheme will provide enhanced, targeted supports to 121 schools with the highest concentrations of children and young people at risk of educational disadvantage.
The Minister has also published the DEIS Strategy to 2035, a comprehensive ten-year plan to address educational disadvantage and promote equity across all schools supported by this investment.
