75 patients are on trolleys at Galway's public hospitals today.

57 are on trolleys at University Hospital Galway while 18 are waiting for a bed at Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe.

The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation figures show UHG is the third-most overcrowded hospital today.

At University Hospital Limerick there are 114 patients on trolleys and 64 at Cork University Hospital.

Across the country, 553 admitted patients are awaiting a bed.
