Almost two thirds of the line-up for this year's Galway Theatre Festival is created by Galway-based preformers
The nine-day event opens on April 30th and is dedicated to independent theatre, circus, and performance.
The full programme was launched last night and organisers say it reflects the energy and orginality of Galway's artistic community.
One of the highlights is SWEAT - it's set in Galway in 2045, where environmental collapse has reshaped society in radical ways.
Another production, The Heart Ward, sees four actors and a rich soundscape trace a life across decades, moving between 1950s London and present-day Galway.
Irish storytelling traditions are reworked through a contemporary lens in The Little Songbird.
Meanwhile new work continues to push boundaries of form and identity - ROOMS is an exploration of migration, moving between Ireland and Australia.
The full programme is on the Galway Theatre Festival website.
