Aontú leader Peadar Toibín has written to Galway City Council demanding action on the ongoing oat spreading saga in the city.

In a letter to Council CEO Leonard Cleary, he described the situation as 'an epsiode of Killinaskully'.

Deputy Toibín asks for 'transparency' on the amount of money spent on a taskforce established to eradicate the issue last year.

He says the porridge attracts rodents, which poses an increased risk to public health and safety in the city.
