Army threat against port blockades contrasted with Storm Eowyn response

The prospect of the Defence Forces intervening to remove blockades from fuel ports is being contrasted with the response to Storm Eowyn.

Local Sinn Fein TD Claire Kerrane says when people in the West were struggling with essentials for weeks, the Government ignored calls to deploy the Defence Forces.

Now, she says they've jumped immediately to talk about deploying the army, when there are other options.
