After the announcement of approval for the Galway City Ring Road, attention now turns to what happens next.
The proposed 18-kilometre road would run from the M6 motorway on the outskirts of the city to west of Bearna.
This version of the road was approved in 2021 - but permission was withdrawn when it was ruled it had not taken the Government's latest climate action plan into account.
This morning, Galway's local authorities learned that the project has been given the final stamp of approval.
Speaking to Galway Talks, County CEO Liam Conneally explained what happens next.
And City CEO Leonard Cleary had this to say on the potential for a judicial review to be taken.
And what do the public think - Sarah Slevin has been asking people in Galway City.
