A Galway school has been crowned the winners of the 'From Foal to Race' competiton.
Transition year students from Choláiste an Chreagáin collected a €1000 cheque at the Racing Academy in Kildare.
Students Tanya Mannion, Mischa Moran and Caitlin Flynn won with their concept that collects and transmits real-time health data from a horse directly to the owner.
Judges were impressed by the project, which showed a brilliant understanding of how technology can support equine welfare and performance.
There was a total of 12 finalists competing for the top spot, all of which showcased their learnings from the programme.
