The Bish secondary school is telling the Department of Education it's not accepting its exclusion from the approved 2026/27 construction list as it's ready to go with its Dangan campus, a land swop with the University of Galway.
The project, which is more than 20 years in the making, has not been included in the Department of Education's list of priority projects for 2026 and 2027.
The one-thousand-student campus received planning permission in 2024, and the school says the design is complete and it will be tender-ready within months.
FYI Galway reporter James Varley went to the Bish today to talk to the board of management, the principal, teachers and pupils about this delay
