Developing a bypass of Headford has been touted as a solution to deal with traffic congestion.
Galway County Council presented local councillors with an update on the Headford Transport Study at this week's Tuam area weeking.
The plan aims to address traffic calming, pedestrian crossings, parking safety measures and bus stops in the area.
The meeting heard that a public consultation will take place in the coming months, and the plans will progress from there.
