Call for action on "inadequate" Sunday bus services to Parkmore

A local councillor says action is urgently needed on "inadequate" Sunday bus services to Parkmore.

The Parkmore routes are the busiest in the city by a considerable margin - and they start from 6am Monday through Saturday.

But Councillor Shane Forde says there's a major gap on Sunday, when the buses only start at 7am, the same time as the morning shift at the multinationals.

He's written to Junior Minister for Transport and Galway East TD Sean Canney, urging him to put pressure on the National Transport Authority.

Councillor Forde says it's the busiest route in Galway and the later start on Sunday is affecting a huge workforce.
