There's been a strong call for increased funding for Galway LEADER projects
The funding, granted by Galway Rural Development is designed to aid the development of rural areas around Europe.
Recent projects include Kilconly GAA Club, Clarinbridge Community playground, and Cappataggle Community Association, who received 150 thousand, 51 thousand and 114 thousand euros respectively.
€1.2 million has been allocated to 14 projects in rural Galway over the last few weeks but Executive Director of GRD and Fine Gael Councillor Andrew Reddington says more is needed:
