The matter was raised at the City Joint Policing Committee by Councillor Frank Fahy, who said during matches, up to 120 cars are parked illegally along footpaths at Dyke Road.

He claimed the stance of management is that anything that happens outside the grounds is not their responsibility.

Garda Chief Superintendent Tom Curley pledged that Gardaí would in future keep a closer eye on the situation and ticket cars parked illegally if needed.

However, Councillor Fahy feels what's actually needed is a proper plan between all stakeholders.
