Chief Fire Officer for Galway advises caution as Orange Fire notice issued

Chief Fire Officer for Galway County Council Gerry O'Malley is advising people to be careful as an Orange Fire Notice is in place.

He says vegetation is dry, and it's not due to rain for another ten days, with the Department of Agriculture warning in place until next Monday.

It says there is a risk to areas where hazardous fuels such as dead grasses and shrub fuels such as heather and gorse exist
