A newly opened autism support hub in Galway City is offering a new regional model of support based on international best practice.
The HSE funded community hub, located at Liosbaun Business Park, has been opened by AsIAm, Ireland's Autism charity.
It's described as a dedicated, in-person, neuroaffirmative space that provides information, advice, advocacy and peer connection for autistic people and their families.
The model draws from twenty years of implementation in Scotland.
CEO of AsIAm, Adam Harris, says this hub in Galway could be a blueprint for a national rollout.
