City Council launch initiative to boost use of Gaeilge at City Hall

Galway City Council has launched an initiative which aims to boost its use of Gaeilge.

Staff and elected members wearing a new lanyard which says 'Tá Gaeilge agam' are showing they're open to engaging in Irish at City Hall.

Both fluent speakers and those with a cúpla focail are taking part - to encourage the use of Irish no matter what your level is.

City Council Irish Officer, Marcus Ó Conaire, has been speaking to our reporter Sarah Slevin about it
