Galway City Councillors will hear pitches from aspiring presidential candidates later today.
In order to compete in the race for the Aras, a candidate needs either the backing of four local authorities, or the support of 20 Oireachtas members.

Meanwhile, it'll be the turn of County Councillors to host presidential hopefuls tomorrow morning.
Conor McGregor has withdrawn from the presidential election campaign ahead of those special meetings.
He posted on X, announcing he'll no longer be seeking a nomination to appear on next month's ballot.
