The University of Galway is to host a special screening of the Oscar nominated film 'The Voice of Hind Rajab'.

Hind Rajab was a five-year-old Palestinian girl in the Gaza Strip who was killed by Israeli forces during the Gaza war, alongside six of her family members and two paramedics coming to her rescue.

The Irish Red Cross is collaborating with the Irish Centre for Human Rights, the university and Avant Garde Society to host the screening.

It'll be followed by an expert panel discussion on the importance of upholding International Humanitarian Law.

The free screening is taking place in the Large Lecture Theatre in the Human Biology Building at 7 this evening - and registration is required here.

This recording is of Hind Rajab's cousin Layan on the phone to emergency services as their car was shot at - some listeners may find this clip distressing.
