City tour guide warns Eyre Square landmark 'melting' due to acid rain

A Galway city tour guide is warning that Eyre Square's Browne Doorway is melting due to acid rain.

Brian Nolan of Galway Walks is calling for the early 17th century lime-stone structure to be moved to a museum immediately to protect it.

He says pollution and water damage are contributing to acid rain, which is damaging the Doorway, which has been at the top of Eyre Square since the 1900s.

Speaking to Galway Talks, Brian explains how the structure is deteriorating
