Claddagh Watch to carry out extra waterway patrols as Junior Cert students celebrate results

Waterway patrol group Claddagh Watch will have an increased presence in the city this evening, as Junior Cert students celebrate their results.

The volunteer group will be out from 7.30pm until late to ensure people get home safe, and offer assistance to those who need it.

Claddagh Watch Patrol was founded in 2019, following four water-related deaths over a single week.

Chair of Claddagh Watch, Councillor Niall McNelis, says they want to ensure everyone gets home safe tonight.
