Connemara group demands council meeting over Gaeltacht housing

A Connemara housing group is demanding an urgent meeting with Galway County Council over the housing crisis in the Gaeltacht.

BÁNÚ says the local authority is doing irreparable damage, and the prospects for Irish as the primary community language.

This,it says, is happening through the neglect of social housing stock, and lack of plans to build social homes in the region.

Chairperson of  BÁNÚ, Donncha Ó hÉallaithe says this will have dire consequences down the line.
