A crucial vote on a plan to build a permanent helipad at Shantalla Park is being held tomorrow.
The HSE wants to buy the land for around €700,000 from Galway City Council, to replace a temporary helipad with a permanent, upgraded structure.
It's also offering to contribute more than €1 Million to invest in the Shantalla area, to compensate for the loss of green space.
But local activists say they're tired of empty promises over the years, and just want to preserve Shantalla Park for future generations.
City Councillors will vote on the sale of the land at a special meeting being held at ATU Galway tomorrow afternoon.
Fine Gael Councillor Shane Forde says that the vote cant be delayed any longer
