Dog Walkers urged to be mindful of disrupting endangered birds on Grattan beach

Dog walkers are being urged to be mindful of disrupting the feeding of endangered birds that have been spotted on Grattan beach.

The Red Listed Bar-tailed Godwit has recently been spotted regularly on the beach, which is a spot popular with dog walkers.

Free-roaming dogs can disrupt the birds feeding cycles by chasing and scaring them away.

Garry Kendellen of Galway Atlantiquaria, says that people need to be more mindful of species threatened by extinction.
