Government grants worth €1.5m were paid out during the second quarter to support the refurbishment of 26 derelict and vacant Galway homes.
13 grants were issued in the city between April and June, for total value of €741 thousand.
Another 13 were paid out in the county for a total of €776 thousand.
The Department of Housing say 2,856 homes nationally have been brought back into use - which have been part-funded through the scheme.
Almost 14,000 applications have been made for money since the scheme started - with more than 9,000 paid out.
Around 700 grants were paid out between April and June this year - which the Department of Housing say is a continual rise.
Donegal has had the highest number of applications - followed by Cork and Mayo.
Payment for the scheme isn't made until the works on the house is completed and inspected by a local authority.
