More than 1.6 million euro in funding has been announced for seven Galway areas under a Government renewal scheme.
This includes projects across two parts of the scheme: the main Town and Village Renewal Scheme and the Project Development Scheme.
Portumna's Town Hall and Bridewell is receiving the largest allocation of half a million euro for restoration works.
Both Páirc Pobal Leitir Móir and Clonbur community centre will receive €300,000 each for enhancement and refurbishment works.
The street frontage of buildings in Ahascragh will enjoy significant enhancement with an allocation of a quarter of a million euro.
€214,500 will be given to a proposal to revitalise Killimor's village centre, tackling vacancy and enhancing shopfronts and facades.
Under the Project Development Measure, Athenry will receive €42,750 - to help with bringing the parochial hall in the centre back into use.
While Corofin will reveive €45,572 to go toward the development cost associated with the provision of additional amenities in the park
