€20m is being paid out to more than 9,600 Galway farmers under the Areas of Natural Constraints Scheme.
The scheme provides payments to support people farming land in designated disadvantaged areas.
The payment of €20m in Co. Galway is the largest single allocation nationwide.
On the opposite end is Dublin, with just €288 thousand awarded between 125 farmers.
Nationally, payments of more than €183m are being awarded to almost 87 thousand farmers.
