€332,000 from the local property tax will be used to fund footpath projects in Galway city east for the next 4 years.

The plan was announced at a meeting of Galway City Councils East ward, where councillors voted unanimously to use their allocation for footpath improvement projects.

Areas that will receive substantial funding include Castlepark, Riverside, Renmore and St James' road.
