€366,000 of the €500,000 allocated for bus shelters in Galway was not used in 2025.

This is according to Tuam councillor Donagh Killilea, who met with the transport minister last week seeking funding for a new bus shelter in Tuam.

The Fianna Fail councillor was told by Minister Darragh O'Brien that most of the funding wasn't used by the council and was given back to the National Transport Authority at the end of the year.

At a meeting of Tuam councillors, it was confirmed that €500,000 from the NTA has been secured again for 2026.
