Galway Bay fm newsroom - Emergency services are at the scene of a traffic incident at Briarhill.

A pedestrian was hit by a car close to the traffic lights on the N6 outbound between the Briarhill Shopping Centre and the Coolagh roundabout at around 2.30pm.

The Gardaí, ambulances and fire service are at the scene.

The extent of the pedestrian's injuries are not yet known.

Motorists travelling outbound from Briarhill towards the motorway or Dublin Road are advised to expect delays in the area.
