A group in the EU Parliament has appointed a local MEP as its lead negotiator on the implementation of the upcoming CAP legislation.
Renew Europe, a political grouping which consists of MEPs from 24 different countries, has selected Fianna Fail MEP Barry Cowan for the position.
It's as the European Parliament will be working on the implementation of the Common Agricultural Policy for the period 2028 to 2034.
MEP Cowan says it's a hugely significant legislative file and he's honoured to be appointed Renew Europe’s Shadow Rapporteur at such a decisive moment for European agriculture.
