Fall in number of Garda checkpoints in Galway last year

The number of drink and drug driving checkpoints carried out in Galway last year was down on the previous year.

Figures from the Garda PULSE systems show 1,125 checkpoints were conducted between July and September 2024.

During the same period last year, 1,084 were carried out, a drop of 3.6 percent.
