Funding for Athenry project on food waste prevention

Amicitia Health and Social Care based in Athenry is to receive 45,000 euro under the Circular Economy Grant Scheme.

This is an economy where resources are reused, waste is minimised and sustainability is at the core of production and consumption.

The Athenry project will develop an innovative experimential learning model for food waste prevention through an audio walking tour, preservation workshops, and hotel demonstration project.

It's hoped the model could be replicated across market towns throughout Ireland.
