Galway City Ring Road approved by An Coimisiún Pleanála

The Galway City Ring Road planning application has been approved by An Coimisiún Pleanála.

The controversial road was approved in 2021, but a legal challenge saw that quashed because the Goverment's latest environmental guidelines had not been taken into the account.

Galway County Council, Galway City Council and TII will now proceed, following a detailed review of An Coimisiún Pleanála’s decision, to the next phase of the project.

The Enabling and Procurement stage includes the progression of detailed design, preparation of contract documentation and the procurement process.
