Galway East TD Calls for Government to improve respite access for parents

A Galway East TD has called for improved access to respite for parents of children with special needs.

Sinn Féin's Louis O Hara says that many parents in Galway are left waiting years to access these services for their child.

Respite care allows parents to take breaks from minding their child, a service provided by organisations such as Ability West.

Speaking in the Dáil, Deputy O Hara says that Government needs to work with organisations like Ability West to improve access.
