Galway RNLI mark 30 years of saving lives on Galway Bay

Galway RNLI is marking 30 years of saving lives on Galway Bay.

Since 1996, the crew have launched over 800 rescues, coming to aid of nearly 500 people and saving 74 lives.

Today, there are 37 volunteers attached to the station.

Lifeboat Operations Manager Paul Carey has been a volunteer since 1996 and says they're looking towards the next 30 years.
