A Galway East TD has urged the government to add a proposed extension for Gort Community School to its priority list for building projects.
Sinn Féin's Louis O Hara says that the school has grown rapidly in recent years and that current and future students deserve better facilities.
The extension to the school, which this week celebrated its 30th anniversary, would increase its capacity to 1200 pupils from 1050.
Deputy O Hara who raised the issue in the Dáil this week, says that the school has been working on the extension for years now.
