Galway is set to host a major political gathering involving senior politicians and policymakers from across Europe.
Midlands North West MEP Miara Walsh will host the European People's Party Summer University for the first time in the West of Ireland, although the venue is not being revealed at this point.
The gathering takes place from the 10th-12th of June and will see MEPS and key political figures discuss economic, social and geopolitical challenges facing Europe.
The European People's Party has been the largest party in the European Parliament since 1999, and all Fine Gael MEPS are members.

MEP Walsh hopes that the gathering being held here will help the development of the region.
